While the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates registered win in Nowshera and Sunderbani municipalities of Rajouri district in the civic polls where it got absolute majority, the party drew blank in Kalakote constituency.

The Congress party got the majority in Thannamandi municipal committee while the keys for the post of chairman of Rajouri municipal committee are with the independents.

As per a district official, counting for all the five municipal committees of Rajouri was held in Boys Higher Secondary School Rajouri under tight security arrangements.
