Bharatiya Janata Party president, Amit Shah Wednesday claimed that Rohingya Muslims have infiltrated into Jammu and Kashmir to bring about a demographic change in Jammu province of the state.
Shah made the claim during his campaign speech at a rally inSunderbani and promised to deport every Rohingya from the state and initiate aNational Register of Citizens (NRC), a controversial citizenship certificationprogramme the central government set into motion in Assam.
“I assure that after coming into power, Modi governmentwill bring NRC over Rohingyas infiltration and every single Rohingya will bepushed out.” Shah said.
“Infiltration of Rohingyas is an attempt to changedemography of Jammu which BJP will not allow to happen.”
Shah said the BJP government at the centre had sanctionedconstruction of 17000 bunkers for border residents of the state who sufferevery time tensions between India and Pakistan ensue.
“Narendra Modi will inaugurate the esteemed project ofbunkers construction in June this year and this I assure you from thisstage,” Shah said during his campaign speech.
