Will end militancy in Kishtwar: DGP

Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Dilbagh Singh, on Monday said that security forces will soon end militancy in Kishtwar district.

While talking to media persons on the sidelines of his visitin Mendhar area of Poonch district, the JK Police chief said that there waspresence of “some militancy elements in Kishtwar since long and some new faceshave joined them.”

   

“I assure that very soon militancy will be wiped out inKishtwar,” said the DGP.

He further said that investigation conducted by police inthe killing of Parihar brothers and RSS leader in Kishtwar was in its laststage and even the accused were identified.

“Now the investigation is with another agency and Icannot comment much on it,” he said.

Singh further said that police is undertaking strong actionagainst those involved in narcotics smuggling.

When asked about direct recruitment of youth from borderareas in police, DGP Singh said that direct recruitment is a prerogative ofgovernment and police will implement the same whenever any direction fromgovernment is received.

Replying to another question regarding project to installCCTVs across the state, he said that the project is in its final stage.
