Haider seeks role for PaK govt, Kashmiri leaders

Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider on Monday reiterated that the government in Muzaffarabad and Kashmiri leaders should be given a role for advocacy of Kashmir cause at the international level.

“It’s the demand of the time andcircumstances that the PaK government and the All Parties Hurriyat Conference(APHC) be given a role to plead their case before the international community,”he said at the 31st death anniversary function of the Kashmiri leader K HKhurshid.

   

Khurshid who served as private secretary toMuhammad Ali Jinnah from 1944 to late 1947 and as PaK president from May 1959to August 1964 had founded the third major and popular political party in thestate of Jammu and Kashmir after Muslim Conference and National Conference bythe name of Jammu Kashmir Liberation League (JKLL) in 1962.

A year earlier, he had conducted and won thefirst ever elections in PaK under the basic democracy system.

He breathed his last in a road accident onMarch 11, 1988, when he was on board a public transport vehicle as an ordinarypassenger despite being leader of the opposition in the PaK assembly.

The PaK PM said that Kashmir was not abilateral issue but the issue of life and death of its 15 million inhabitants.”Kashmiri leadership must forge unity and unanimity on their course of actionin the interest of their struggle,” he added.
