Kashmir continues to be core agenda: Gen Bajwa

Kashmir continues to remain the core unresolved agenda, Pakistan army chief, general  Qamar Javed Bajwa, said here Thursday.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the media affairs wing of Pakistan army, Gen Bajwa made these observations during his visit to Sarpir and Pandu areas along the Line of Control in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

   

Bajwa reiterated Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir issue saying Kashmir remains the core unresolved agenda and we stand by Kashmiris in their just historical stance, the ISPR said.

During his earlier visits to LoC, Gen Bajwa had said that Kashmir is the core issue and it must be resolved in accordance with the UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people for a lasting peace in the region.

Meanwhile, Bajwa said the Pakistan army’s belief in peace and stability should not be misconstrued as troops were fully prepared and determined to defend the country. 

“Pakistan Army is fully devoted to peace and stability of the region. However, we are ready and resolute in defending the motherland against any misadventure,” said Bajwa, while addressing the troops stationed along the dividing line in PaK.

He appreciated the “operational readiness” and “high state of morale” of Pakistani troops.
