Islamabad, Dec 10: Stating that 'massive concentration of troops in Kashmir' was one of the major causes of 'human rights violations' in the region, various leaders at a seminar organized by Kashmir Institute of International Relations here on Wednesday sought peaceful settlement of K-issue to mitigate peoples' sufferings.
The seminar held in connection with International Human Rights Day was addressed by Pakistan Peoples Party central leader Qamar-uz-Zaman Qaira; Ali Muhammad Khan of Pakistan Tehreek Insaf; Shah Ghulam Qadir of PML-N; Amjad Yousuf and Hurriyat Conference leaders including Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Altaf Ahmed Wani, Saleem Haroon and others.
They said, "Since 1989, human rights situation in Jammu and Kashmir remained under severe criticism from local and international human rights organisations."
