12-day ice skating training camp concludes in Leh

The 12 day ice skating training camp organised by District Police Leh concluded at Police ice hockey rink  at Agling here on Friday.

The concluding day showcased march past on skates, ice skate racing in different categories and cultural dance on skates by the participants. 

   

Deputy chairman LAHDC-Leh, Gyal Wangyal, who was the chief guest on the occasion, while addressing the participants and the audience hailed district Police Leh for providing multifarious platforms to the children especially in ice skating which has a huge potential in Ladakh region. He lauded SSP Leh Sargun Shukla for organizing such events in the hilly region. 

The SSP Leh said that 67 participants of the camp, majority of whom, were not able to stand properly the first day are on skates and are now skating like professionals. “The biggest investment is investing on our children. We have to engage them into constructive activities so that in future they help the nation in constructive developments,” she added.  

Later, certificates were distributed among the position holders of ice hockey race in different categories and among all the participants as well.
