13-year-old Ibrahim Qureshi on Monday won the 26th Srinagar
District badminton championship title that was held atSheri-Kashmir Indoor Stadium here.
Playing in the men’s category after having won his own agecategory earlier, Ibrahim Qureshi defeated Ishfaq Ahmad in the final by 21-19,21-18 sets.
SanjivArora bagged the first position in the veteran’scategory while as Qureshi had also Under-15 title, defeating Aman Mir instraight sets.
In the women’s category, AzraQadir bagged the titledefeating Hadiya Anwar in straight sets by 21-15, 21-11 in final.
In the Veteran’s singles (35 years and above) Aroramaintained his supremacy in the category by beating UzairKachroo 21-15, 21-17sets.
Commissioner Secretary PDD Hridesh Kumar was chief guest atthe concluding function and distributed prizes among the winners.
The championship was organised by Srinagar DistrictBadminton Association under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir BadmintonAssociation.
