With an aim to make the event smooth and also to avert clash with J&K Bank examination, Kashmir University on Thursday announced route plan for both the events.

More than fifteen thousand athletes have so far registered for the Big Kashmir International half marathon scheduled to be held in Srinagar on September 13, the organizers said today. 

“The participation of 15 international athletes has also been confirmed for the event”, they said in a statement, adding that it will be for the first time that such a grand scale long distance running event would be held in Kashmir. “It is also a first that foreign athletes would be the participants”, they added. 

They said two events shall be held during the half marathon. “The main event comprises 21-kilometer half marathon in which professional athletes would be running while as in the second category which is a fun run of around 5-kilomtres, majority of the registered players would be competing”.

KU ANNOUNCES ROTE PLAN

With an aim to make the event smooth and also to avert clash with J&K Bank examination, Kashmir University on Thursday announced route plan for both the events.

“The proposed route for the run is from University of Kashmir, Hazratbal Srinagar to SKICC and back to the campus. The first departure of the run is expected to start from the University play ground at around 6. 30 AM. The parking of the vehicles of the participants for this event will be strictly made in the parking lot of Sir Syed gate only,” a KU statement read.

However, the J&K Bank is scheduled to conduct the online examination for Relationship Executives on September 13 at various centers in the University of Kashmir.

In order to facilitate this examination it has been decided that the candidates appearing for this examination will enter through Sir Syed Gate and the parking of the vehicles of candidates appearing in the examination will be made in the parking areas of Humanities Block, near Business School and Law Department, the statement said. 

“The candidates for this Bank examination coming from Ganderbal/ Kangan area and following the Zakura route are requested to have a diversion at the Habak Crossing so that they can enter through the Sir Syed gate via Saderbal-Kanitar route,” the statement added.
