2nd Div, I-League: FC Pune inflict another defeat on Lone Star FC

Hosts FC Pune City inflicted seventh defeat of the season on Lone Star Kashmir FC in the Second Division I-League at Pune on Tuesday.

After leading by 2-0 goals, Lone Star went on to concede three goals to suffer 3-2 defeat at the hands of FC Pune City. It was seventh defeat of season for below par Lone Star FC in the league out of nine matches played.

   

Playing only for pride after having lost chance to make it to next round, Lone Star got to terrific start as inform striker, Aakif Reshi gave them lead in 6th minute. It was the much needed boost that Lone Star were looking for and Karun Raina went on to double lead in 26th minute for them. After 26 minutes into game, Lone Star were leading against hosts by 2-0. However, things changed completely with FC Pune City pushing for the goals. In 36th minute Jakob Vanlalhimpuia opened account for hosts. At half time Lone Star were leading by 2-1.

In the second half, FC Pune City went on to score equalizer in 47th minute and then in 51st minute Gaurav Bora scored third goal for them. After that no goals were scored and FC Pune City won match by 3-2 goals.

From the nine matches played, Lone Star has been able to bag only two points and that has put them on the bottom of the points table in Group-A. Contrary to that another I-League club of Kashmir, Real Kashmir stands on top of the same table with 19 points from nine matches. They have got excellent chance of making into main round depending on the outcome of the last match of the season.

Lone Star will next face, Delhi Dynamos on May 13 and on the same day, real Kashmir will face FC Pune City.
