7th JK Golf Association Tournament concludes at RSGC

The two-day 7th JK Golf Association tournament that saw around 90 golfers from the State and other parts of the Country participating in it, concluded at Royal Springs Golf Course, here on Sunday.

In the tournament Chinar and Pine teams clashed against each other as the format was team-based. Team Chinar captained by Mushtaq Ahmad Burza emerged winners of the 7th JK Golf Association tournament.

   

Earlier the second leg of the tournament at RSGC was teed-off by Director Tourism Kashmir Tasaduq Jeelani on Sunday and in it over 90 golfers, both local and golfers from other parts of the country participated. Internationally acclaimed golfer Shiv Kapur was major attraction of the tournament.

On Sunday at RSGC, the awards for the straight drive went to Rizwan Dar, longest drive went to Dr Shafkat Nazir, nearest to the pin went to Arshad Qadri, and bull’s eye went to Ashiq Wani.

Earlier first leg of the tournament was held at Pahalgam Golf Course on Saturday which was inaugurated by Member Parliament and National Conference (NC) chief Farooq Abdullah. Over 80 golfers participated on the first day at Pahalgam.

At Pahalgam, the awards for the straight drive went at Mukhtar Jalla, longest drive went to Shiv Kapur, nearest to pin went to Ghalib Mohiuddin Shah, bull’s eye went to Farooq Rafique.

Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai who was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony gave away the awards to the winners. Speaking on the occasion, Ganai appreciated the golfers who had come from other States for their participation in the tournament.
