Chandhara beat Wanpura in South Kashmir cricket tournament

The tournament took off on September 21 was played on a T20 format with participation of 64 teams from various districts of South Kashmir and finally culminated on December 22.

Chandhara Cricket Club beat Wanpura Eleven by 23 runs in the South Kashmir Cricket Tournament organised by Army at Awantipur.

The tournament took off on September 21 was played on a T20 format with participation of 64 teams from various districts of South Kashmir and finally culminated on December 22.

According to defence spokesman, the Chief Guest on the occasion, Maj Gen BS Raju, GOC Victor Force felicitated both the teams for their outstanding performance and exhorted them to keep up the spirit of sports in the region. 

The winning team was presented with a cheque of Rs 30000 and the runner up team was given a cheque of Rs 15000 as a motivational incentive. The GOC Victor Force also took this mega event as an opportunity to felicitate Bashir Ahmad (handicap, a tailor by profession), resident of Chandhara village by presenting him a handicapped scooter.
