Locals of Shaliyar Habakadal area contributed to open community gymnasium in the locality to keep youth away from the drug menace.
The gymnasium named, Muscle Factory was inaugurated on Sunday jointly by the locals of the area and boosts all the modern facilities.
For the buying gymnasium equipment, locals contributed among themselves and around 40-lakhs were collected and spent to make it truly a modern facility. The space has been donated by another local Yasin Ahmad who himself has been a former National body building athlete. The facility as per locals would be open for all and not just the locals of the area.
“It is the initiative that we jointly have taken to get area rid of the drug menace. We noticed that our youngsters were getting attracted towards drug menace and other bad habits. We got the idea and then everyone contributed in it as per their financial positions. It is voluntary contribution to make society a better place to live in,” said a local.
