Parvez shines with 4-wkt haul for Gazi Group
Continuing his superb form in the Bangladesh domestic cricket outing, the man of the match bowling performance by Parvez Rasool helped Gazi Group Cricketers to outplay Victoria SC by eight wickets at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah on Tuesday.
In his 10 over quota Parvez Rasool ran through the Victoria SC middle order taking four wickets in the process. He conceded only 28 runs with economy rate of 2.80. For his splendid bowling performance Parvez was adjudged man of the match.
In his first match in the league, Parvez had scored match winning unbeaten 53 run knock for his team. It was only his second match in the league since joining Gazi Group as an overseas player.
Buoyed by his performance, Parvez said that he kept it simple and bowled wicket to wicket.
“I already know how the wickets are in Bangladesh. The ball usually keeps low with occasion untoward bounce. Keeping that in kind I bowled wicket to wicket and that is the reason I got two LBW decisions in my favor,” Parvez told Greater Kashmir.
“I am happy with my performance and to get man of the match award was extra motivation. The whole team management praised my effort and I am hopeful that I keep contributing with both and bowl for the team,” he said.
“The quality of cricket is good and the conditions make it extra difficult. It needs real motivation and skills to excel in this league,” he said.
Parvez said that weather conditions are too tough for the 50-over cricket and only a player with high fitness levels can compete in these conditions.
“The weather here in Bangladesh is hot and humid. The 50-over game is real difficult to play in these conditions. It challenges you mentally and also physically. I am keeping myself hydrated in order keep myself fit,” he added.
Pertinently Parvez joined the Dhaka League after getting double snub in the ongoing Indian Premier League T20.
