Delhi Public School (DPS) Budgam has emerged as winner of the Under-16 Shadaab Cricket tournament conducted by Shadaab Higher Secondary School, Srinagar. Cricket teams of 16 schools from different parts of Kashmir had participated in the tournament.
In the final match of the tournament, DPS Budgam clashed with Sanatorium High School. Sanatorium School, who won the toss and elected to bat first, got all out for paltry 103 runs in 17 overs. In reply, DPS Budgam chased the target in 16.3 overs only to emerge as the winner.
While Aga Syed Aqib of DPS Budgam was awarded Man of the Match for his outstanding performance, it was Rohan of DPS Budgam who was adjudged as the Man of the Series for scoring a total of 247 runs and taking five wickets in the tournament.
At the concluding function, Director Education, Kashmir, Dr Itoo was the chief guest while Dr Nasir Ahmad was the guest of honour.
