‘Dragging players in controversy not right’

Real Kashmir Football Club on Sunday lashed out at Minerva Punjab FC for dragging its players into the controversy by highlighting their social media posts.

Minerva Punjab FC have refused to travel to Srinagar for Sundays I-League match against host Real Kashmir in the aftermath of Pulwama militant attack. While they have been vocal on social media in refusing to travel to Srinagar for the match, Minerva Punjab FC have also highlighted the social media posts of some of the former and current Real Kashmir players.

“It is just not right and they shoudn’t have stooped so low. They have right to forfeit their match but they shouldn’t have dragged our players into their politics. They used one of former player’s social media post for their mileage. They have not stopped there and have even highlighted current player Danish Bhat’s social media posts in which the striker has shown his love for Pakistan cricket team and music,” said Real Kashmir official.

“While we have no control on what our former player is doing currently, none of our current player has done anything objectionable as of now. They have highlighted Danish’s year 2016 social media posts to justify their refusal. Even in those posts he just has expressed his love for cricket and music,” official added.
