In this regard Government Administration Department (GAD) has issued a circular number 08-GAD of 2015.
The Jammu and Kashmir Government today barred its employees from holding office in sports associations and directed all administrative secretaries to implement SRO-164 in letter and spirit.
The SRO bars a Government servant from being an office bearer in any sports body unless he/she has a valid prior permission from the state Government.
“After receiving reports that several Government servants in Jammu and Kashmir are holding offices of ‘profit’ in various Sports Associations without the prior permission of the State Government in violation of sub-rule-2 of Rule- 21 of J&K Government Employees Conduct Rules, 1971 (SRO-164 dated 27- 03-1 980), the government ordered immediate ban on such practices”, sources said.
In this regard Government Administration Department (GAD) has issued a circular number 08-GAD of 2015, whereby all employees have been directed not to hold any offices in sports associations, without prior permission of Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, they added.
