Gandhi College books final berth

With this win Gandhi Memorial College booked their place in the final match of the event.

Continuing its dominance in college-level cricket arena of Kashmir, Gandhi Memorial College on Friday made their way into the finals of the 9thProf. Yousuf Memorial Cricket Cup defeating GDC Bijbehara by 36 runs in the semifinal match played at Islamia College ground here.

Batting first, Gandhi Memorial College scored 146 runs in the allotted 25 overs. Shahid with 28 runs was the highest scorer for them while as for GDC Bijbehara, Nayeem and Aadil took two wickets each.

In reply, GDC Bijbehara were bundled out for 111 runs only in 21.2 overs. Shakeel with 29 runs was the highest scorer for them. For GM College Shenain took four wickets and was adjudged as man of the match.

With this win Gandhi Memorial College booked their place in the final match of the event.

The second semifinal of the event is scheduled to be played on Saturday between Islamia College and GDC Pulwama. The Tournament is being organized by the Department of Physical Education of the Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar.
