In what could bring Jammu and Kashmir on motorsport map of country, Mehboob-ul-Hassain has become first from the state to get selected for participation in Volkswagen, Ameo motorsport championship.
Hassain, originally hails from Anantnag district. He is presently working as principal at Banihal area of Ramban district.
“I always loved cars and take part in racing events,” said Hassain, from Pune over phone.
Volkswagen Motorsport India had recently announced the start of registrations for drivers for its 10th edition.
The selection for the event was held in Pune on February 9 and 10, after which Hassain along with 14 other drivers from across the country were selected for mega-motorsport event.
