ICS Greens emerged as winner of the Inter-group cricket tournament conducted by Islamia College Hawal, here on Friday.
In the final ICS Greens defeated ICS Yellows. Batting firstYellows scored 211 runs in the allotted30 overs for the loss of all wickets. Junaid with 46 and Bilal with 26 were highest scorers for them while as forICS Greens Haroon and Shazib took threeand two wickets respectively.
Chasing a target 212 runs, Greens achieved required targetin 24.4 overs for the loss of three wickets. Mehraj with 85, Aijaz Gagroo with42 not out and Imtiyaz with 40 were highest scorers for them while as forYellows Bilal, Saqib and Umar took one wicket each.ICS Greens won match by seven wickets. Mehraj wasdeclared the man of the match.
Earlier Prof. Mohammad Tanvir Khan member college sportscommittee was introduced to players at the beginning of the match.
Later Director Physical Education, Dr. Altaf gave awaytrophies to both the teams. The tournament was organised by the Department ofPhysical Education of the college.
