Islamia College Srinagar has emerged winner of the Inter-College Table Tennis tournament defeating Government Degree College (GDC) Leh in the final at Kashmir University Table Tennis hall here on Saturday.
In the final, Islamia College team defeated GDC Leh by 2-0.In the first match, Sohaib of Islamia College defeated Aafaaq of GDC by 3-2sets while as in second match Zuhaib of Islamia College defeated Padma Tsringof GDC by 3-0 sets.
Earlier in the run up to the championship the IslamiaCollege team had defeated GDC Charar i Sharief, GDC Tangmaeg, GDC Kargil andthen Iqbal Institute Hyderpora in the semifinals.
The tournament was organized by Directorate of PhysicalEducation and Sports Kashmir University and in it 24 teams of the Valleyincluding Ladakh region participated.
Coordinator Directorate of Physical Education University ofKashmir Prof. Nisar Khan was guest at prize distribution ceremony anddistributed prizes among the winners and the runner up teams.
