Islamia College conducts trek to ‘frozen’ Gangbal lake

Department of Physical Education, Islamia College Srinagar organised a trekking expedition for its students to twin lakes of Gangbal and Nundkul, on Monday.

Both the lakes situated at the foothills of Mount Haramukhin Ganderbal district are currently under the snow and it was last trekkingtrip for the college adventure club before the start of Ramdan.

   

In the trekking expedition nine students and four staffmembers under the supervision of Dr. Altaf ur Rehman participated. The groupstarted early morning from Naranag reached Turundkul at 12 noon. After havinglunch there the group advanced towards Nundkul and Gangbal lakes walking overseveral feet of snow. The participating students were extremely excited to havea glimpse of ice and snow covered frozen lakes of Nundkul and Gangbal at thefoothills of Mount Harmukh.
