With the aim to promote adventure sports and love for nature among girls, Islamia College Srinagar sports department organized first
ever all-girls trekking programme on Monday. This one-daytrekking programme for girls was flagged off by the Principal of the collegeProf. Shiekh
Aijaz Bashir from college campus Hawal. 18 female studentsalong with 7 staff members participated in the programme. The trekking was heldfrom Naranag to Domial in Ganderbal district.
“The trekking started from historically important place ofNaranag and after traversing through the lush green forests of the area alongthe gushing
stream from famous Gangbal, Nundkul and Sarnai lakes reachedDomail at 12:30 PM,” college statement said.
“During the event, the trip coordinator Prof. Nasreen Chestiand other accompanying teachers threw light on the importance of adventuresports and preserving natural resources at the destination,” it further said.
