With the aim to promote adventure sports and love for nature among girls, Islamia College Srinagar sports department organized first
ever all-girls trekking programme on Monday. This one-day trekking programme for girls was flagged off by the Principal of the college Prof. Shiekh
Aijaz Bashir from college campus Hawal. 18 female students along with 7 staff members participated in the programme. The trekking was held from Naranag to Domial in Ganderbal district.
“The trekking started from historically important place of Naranag and after traversing through the lush green forests of the area along the gushing
stream from famous Gangbal, Nundkul and Sarnai lakes reached Domail at 12:30 PM,” college statement said.
“During the event, the trip coordinator Prof. Nasreen Chesti and other accompanying teachers threw light on the importance of adventure sports and preserving natural resources at the destination,” it further said.
