Jagit Club (Uplina) lifted the 2nd Kashmir Open hockey tournament title, defeating Bikram Club (Baramulla) by 6-2 goals in the final played at polo Ground here on Thursday. While Hardeep Singh of Jagjit Club (Uplina) was declared Man of the Match for scoring 3 goals in the final, it was his teammate Gurdeep Singh who bagged the Man of the Tournament award.
Commandant IRP 6th Battalion SS Kotwal, CO 21BN, CRPF Anand Singj, Chief Sports Officer Haji Abdul Qayoom, Divisional Sports Officer Nuzat Ara were guests on the occasion.
The tournament in which 16 teams from different parts of the valley participated, was organised by Kashmir Hockey Academy in collaboration with the J&K State Sports Council. Green-end corps and Jio & Rajinder enterprises were the sponsors and co-sponsors of the tournament respectively.
