JAMMU VIOLENCE: J&K Cricket Association cancells U-14 national matches in Jammu

With Jammu city under curfew, J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) cancelled the scheduled Under-14 national cricket tournament matches on Saturday.

The JKCA is hosting the north zone leg of Under-14 cricket tournament in which five teams including the host J&K are participating.

On Saturday two matches were scheduled to be played. In first one match, J&K was scheduled to take on Delhi and in another match Himachal Pradesh was going to clash with Haryana. However, both the matches were cancelled owing to curfew in the city. Punjab is fifth team participating in the event.

“All the teams are inside their hotel rooms and have not ventured out for last two days. Apart from visiting teams, our own senior team and other age group teams are also inside their hotel rooms,” said JKCA official.

“We are watching the situation. We would decide about the machines at an appropriate time. As of now there is no clarity on the situation,” official added.
