J&K cricket association starts registration of district units

J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) has started registration of district units and has issued notice in this regard.

As per JKCA newly drafted constitution, the cricketgoverning body of the state has to form district cricket associations in everydistrict of the state.

   

Previously there was no provision of district units withassociation being run under club system as it was founded by clubs.

To set the things in motion, JKCA Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari issued notice inviting district units andclubs for the registration.

“The Amended Rules and Regulations of the Jammu and KashmirCricket Association have been found to be inconformity with the recommendationsof the Justice Lodha Committee as approved by the Supreme Court. In view of theamended rules the membership of the JKCA shall inter-alia, consist of anauthorised representative from each recognised district association from alldistricts of the state recognized by the JKCA,” the notice reads.

“Recognized district association shall be an association ofclubs of the game of cricket from a district. Notice is given to all theassociation of clubs of the game of cricket in the districts to seekregistration as recognized district association,” it said.

In the notice it has been made clear that there would beonly one district unit and JKCA would not grant recognition to more than oneunit.

“It is notified that not more than one district associationshall be recognized by the JKCA from a district associations seekingreorganization are required to furnish information’s showing compliance withthe rules and regulations of the JKCA along with fee and a resolution from thedistrict association for recognition from the JKCA. The last date for seekingrecognition is July 31,” it added.
