Kashmir skater Adeeb to represent India in Singapore International event

Kashmir ice-skater Adeeb Ahmad Wani will represent India in the International ice-skating competition being held in Singapore next year.

Wani, a student of Burn Hall School Srinagar, has been selected by Ice Skating Association of India for the International Ice Skating competition scheduled to be held in Singapore in first week of January next year.

   

He has been selected by National Association on the basis of his performances during last year’s National championship. Wani secured gold medal in 500 metre category and a silver medal in 1000 metre category. 

Singapore is hosting the SEA Opens ST trophy (Short Track Challenge Series 2019-20) competition and in it players from various countries would be participating. India is also sending its team for the event and from J&K two players have been selected.

Apart from Wani, Umer Iqbal from Burn Hall has also been selected for the event. Indian contingent is scheduled to leave from New Delhi on December 26 and will be returning on January 7. The players have been asked to report in New Delhi on December 24.
