Top five premier football clubs of Kashmir have joined hands to work together for the development of football and welfare of footballers in J&K.
The five clubs, Real Kashmir FC, Lone Star Kashmir FC, Downtown Heroes FC, a newly launched Srinagar based club, Kashmir Avengers FC and Hyderya Sports FC held a joint meeting at Real Kashmir FC office on Wednesday.
The meeting was held with the aim to improve coordination and communications between the clubs and work for the welfare of players.
The meeting was chaired by Real Kashmir FC owner Sandeep Chattoo and was attended Downtown Heroes FC Co-Owners Mushtaq Bashir and Hinan Bhat, Lone Star’s Owner and Technical Director, Kashmir Avengers owner Arshad Ahmed and Hyderya Sports coach Muneer Ahmed.
The clubs discussed the current scenario of football in J&K and also other issues hampering in the growth of football.
“It was a cordial friendly meeting to know each other and discuss the minor and major things related to our clubs. It was a productive meet and each one discussed their vision and ideas related to the growth of the game in J&K,” Said Mushtaq Bashir, Owner of Downtown Heroes FC.
“It was new learning experience and it will surely help us. Sandeep shared his ideas of the club and every up and down incidents. Being a top team and pride of J&K, club like ours can only take positives from it for our own growth,” Mushtaq added.
The clubs concluded that they will work jointly and will launch inter-club programs between them for the growth of the game and players. They also concluded that they will reach out to Sports Council and J&K Football Association to highlight the issues and problems faced by them.
Pertinently, Real Kashmir FC, Lone Star Kashmir FC, Downtown Heroes FC, Kashmir Avengers and Hyderya Sports are the only clubs in Kashmir that provide monetary contracts to its players and run clubs on professional basis with dedicated staff.
