Real Kashmir leave for Odisha

Real Kashmir football club on Thursday left for Bhubaneswar, Odisha, to play its next I-League match against Indian Arrows scheduled to be held on February 24.

The match is crucial for the debutant Real Kashmir as it is in contention for league championship title. Though the match is termed out as easy outing for Real Kashmir but they can’t afford to lose their focus as at this time of the league when each point matters.

In the points table, Real Kashmir stand at third place with 32 points from 16 matches, East Bengal also have same number of matches but on goal difference sit above Real Kashmir at second place. Chennai City FC occupy top place with 37 points from 17 matches.

Real Kashmir will be playing its match against Indian Arrows in the backdrop of Minerva Punjab FC controversy. Minerva had refused to play its February 18 match in Srinagar in the aftermath of the Pulwama militant attack. The outcome of that issue is still pending with AIFF which is yet to decide whether to award full points to Kashmir-based side or go on with the match on some rescheduled date and venue.

In that backdrop, the match against Indian Arrows is extra important for the Real Kashmir as they would be hoping to get maximum points from the outing to stay in contention for the title.
