Sports academies being set up at Sgr, Jammu: Haji Nisar

Srinagar: Minister for Youth Services and Sport Haji Nissar Ali Wednesday reviewed functioning of the Youth Services and Sports department here.
 The meeting was told that the National Santosh Football tournament would be organized at Srinagar in May 2008 and arrangements in this regard are underway.
 It was revealed that during current year Rs. 47.25 lakh had been utilized on purchase of sports goods benefiting 1.26 lakh players.
 The meeting was told that during current fiscal 278 players took part in national games while as 2311 players in state level tournaments, which include players below 19 years of age.
 Addressing the meeting, Haji Nissar said that 1720 Physical Teachers would be recruited like Rehbar-e-Taleem pattern. He said that two sports academies are being set up at Jammu and Srinagar.
