Sports meet concludes at St Joseph's Baramulla

A two day annual sports meet organised by St .Joseph higher secondary school Baramulla, concluded here on Sunday.

Minister for roads and buildings, Syed Altaf Bukhari, who also happens to be the alumni of the school, was the chief guest on the occasion.

During the two day celebrations, students of the school left the audiences, which included parents and other guests, awe-struck by their performance.

Students' activities during this two day programme reflected varied and diverse sporting talent. Apart from participating in various cultural programmes, they also had fun playing several indoor and outdoor games.

While applauding the school for its excellence in both curricular and extra-curricular activities, the chief guest said,  "The significance of this institution can be gauged by the people it has produced. We have so many professionals including renowned doctors, engineers, professors, entrepreneurs who shaped their future while being a part of this institution," Said Bukhari.

He donated an amount of rupees five lakh from Kohinoor Foundation for the welfare of the institution.

MLA Baramulla, Javaid Hassan Beigh, who was also present on the occasion, congratulated the school authorities for taking the school to the echelons of excellence not only in the town of Baramulla but the entire Kashmir Valley. He donated rupees ten lakh from the constituency development fund to the St.Joseph's Hospital which is being reconstructed.
