U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy: Rajasthan thrash J&K by 133 runs

Playing its last match of the campaign, J&K suffered 133-runs defeat at the hands of Rajasthan in Vinoo Mankad Trophy Under-19 One Day Limited Overs Zonal League (2018-19) at K L Saini Stadium, Jaipur on Friday.

After bouncing strongly in the event by registering back to back three wins, J&K Under-19 cricket team was humbled by Rajasthan in its last match as they suffered 133-runs defeat.

   

Batting first, Rajasthan put on a huge total of 302 runs for the loss of six wickets on board in the allotted overs. SA Ahuja with 92 was the highest scorer for Rajasthan while as SV Joshi remained not out on 79. RM Bishnoi scored 31. For J&K, Taizeem Tak took three wickets while as Mujtaba Yusuf and Abdul Samad took one each.

In reply, J&K got all out for 169 runs in 36.2 overs. J&K lost first wicket on the score of 20 runs in shape of skipper Vivrant Sharma who has been out of sorts in the whole event. He got out for a golden duck. 

Qamran Iqbal joined in middle by Jiyaad Magrey put J&K chase back on track with some quick scoring. Qamran was particularly at his best scoring 33 ball fifty. He got out after scoring 54 off 38 with J&K score on 92 in 11.3 overs. His inning included three sixes and seven fours. 

With the fall of Qamran, J&K kept losing wickets at regular intervals and the whole team got out for 169. Jiyaad fell on the individual score of 30. Mujtaba Yusuf scored 27 down the order while as Kanhaiya Wadhwan scored 22. For Rajasthan RA Chowdary took three wickets.

Accumulating 12 points in 7 matches, J&K finished at sixth place on the points table in Elite Group C with three wins and four defeats in the tournament. Group C composed of eight teams including table toppers Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu, both tied at 24 points at present.
