U-23 One Day Tourney: Mumbai beat J&K by 3 runs in thriller

Mumbai defeated J&K by three runs in a thrilling encounter of Under-23 One Day League at K L Saini Stadium, Jaipur on Monday.

Chasing target of 241 runs set by Mumbai, J&K fell short of a target by three runs as they could manage 238 runs for the loss of nine wickets in allotted 50 overs.

   

Earlier batting first Mumbai scored 241 runs for the loss of all wickets in 49.1 overs. Atharva Vinod with 63 run knock was highest scorer for them while as Chinmay Sutar scored 44. For J&K, Abid Mushtaq took three wickets while as Imtiyaz Ahmad took two.

In reply, J&K managed to score 238 runs for the loss of nine wickets in allotted 50 overs. Nipun Verma with 73 runs was highest scorer for them while as Abhishant Bakshi scored 39. However, it was the late cameo played by Abid Mushtaq and Samad that brought J&K closer to target. Samad scored 31 from 23 balls before getting run out. His fall brought Abid Mushtaq in middle who scored 16 runs from six balls. His run out in last over ended J&K chance of registering win against Mumbai side. Munaab Muneef remained not out on 23. For Mumbai, Sidharth Arke took three wickets while as Kruthik Hanagavadi took two.
