ZPL player’s auction held

The much awaited auction of players for the 3rd edition of Zaberwan Premier League (ZPL) was held at Nigeen Club, here on Wednesday.

In the keenly awaited auction around 450 players went under the hammer and among them around 250 cricketers were grabbed by the 16-franchisee teams. The league that was launched in  2016 is trend setter in Kashmir cricket circles as for as T20 franchisees cricket event is considered. After the launch of ZPL, leagues started to be coming in every nook and corner of the valley. Currently there are around 20 franchisee leagues that are going in different parts of Kashmir but ZPL is among very few that is being played on turf wicket.

   

On the occasion, one of the top level cricketer of state Samiullah Beigh was chief guest while as another top level cricketer of state, Abid Nabi was guest of honor. The cricketers on the occasion encouraged organizers to keep up the momentum and keep providing cricketers chance playing at such level.

“ZPL is the first league  that started the trend in Valley. After ZPL, number of leagues have come up in different parts of Kashmir and we think that it is good for the game and players,” ZPL statement quoted its spokesperson Akki Bhai.

The league is likely to start on April 15 and apart from other prizes, man of the series in the event will be getting scooty.
