Police lodges FIR, starts probe

In a typical Bollywood style, two unidentified persons put a knife on throat of a woman at Gadoodbagh area of Habba Kadal area of Downtown and decamped with Rs two lakh. 

The victim has been identified as wife of Imtiyaz Ahmed Bhat, resident of Gadoodbagh, Habba Kadal. “She had gone to J&K Bank branch Bohri Kadal and withdrew Rs two lakh cash. When she reached close to her home, two unknown persons put a knife on her throat and hit her head with something,” Bhat told Greater Kashmir. “My wife fell unconscious and the duo snatched Rs 2 lakh from her.”

Bhat said that his wife was taken to hospital. “We lodged a complaint in police station Kralkhud in this regard,” he said.

Station House Officer (SHO) Kralkhud police station, Showkat Ahmed said that they have registered the FIR into the incident. “We are also checking the CCTV footage and questioning people. Investigations are on,” the SHO said.
