Sagar hits out at govt for ‘curfew culture’ in Downtown

National Conference general secretary, Ali Muhammad Sagar, said on Tuesday that the repeated curfews and restrictions imposed by the government in Downtown here for last three years has worsened the economic situation of people and business community living there.

“This curfew culture forced by the government on people of Downtown for last three years has given a blow to the economy of people living there,” Sagar said in a statement issued today during his interaction with people of the Downtown.

Sagar took on the government for failing to fulfill the promises it had made with people of Downtown for infusing development.

“Not a single promise of development made with people has been implemented so far in these three years,” said Sagar.

He said “on one hand, the PDP-led government has not allocated any new developmental project to the state and on the other the government had even stopped work on the projects which were initiated during the previous National Conference-Congress government.” “This has been done deliberately,” Sagar said.

“The restrictions imposed by the government in the Downtown has made life of people miserable who are already craving for availability of necessary items in the market including ration,” he added.
