‘Adulterated’ milk seized at Gojwara

Police on Wednesday seized “adulterated” milk packets from Gojwara area in Shahre-e-Khaas. 

Police acted on a complaint by Mushtaq Ahmad Dariel, president Central Traders and Manufacturers Association (CTMA) at police station Nowhatta. 

“We had purchased a milk packet last night and spotted yellowish colour inside. After spotting the substance in the milk packet, local shopkeepers refused to sell the milk brand,” said secretary of the association Bilal Ahmad Wani.

SP north city Sajjad Khaliq Bhat said “we have received a complaint regarding milk adulteration from Central Traders and Manufactures Association, Gojwara. A police party from Nowhatta police station seized the milk and sent its samples to the concerned department for testing. We are awaiting for the test results following which further action will be taken,” the SP said.
