Legal Metrology department conducted inspections of fuelstations across the district.
“Two fuel stations were found dispensing fuel intocontainers in violation of the prohibitory order issued Wednesday. Theviolators were fined Rs 2000 each and warned of harsher punishments against anyfurther violations,” LMD spokesperson said in a statement.
It said the Food Safety department Friday seized anddestroyed over 1500 kilograms of stale pineapple fruit here. The statement saidthe seizure took place during a market inspection drive by the departmentduring which on-the-spot tests of different kinds of consumable food items wereconducted in the mobile testing lab of the department.
DC Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary has directed sustainedmarket inspections to check overpricing among other market violations. He saidstrict action will be taken against violators.
