2 injured in police action in Khanqah-e-Moula

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Haseeb Mughal on Sunday said to ensure lockdown, a police party, ensuring the lockdown at Shamswari Khanqah-e-Moula , was “pelted with stones by some miscreants.”

The SSP said police party on the request of locals reachedthe area to ensure the lockdown “but unfortunately some miscreants resorted tostone pelting which forced police party to fire in self-defence.”

   

“As police party comprising of four to five personnelreached the spot, some miscreants start shouting anti-police slogans andhurling stones. Due to fear of weapon snatching bid, police party fired some shellsand pellets in self-defence to disperse the mob during which some injuries werereported,” the SSP said.

He said a case under relevant sections of law has beenregistered and investigations taken up.On Friday, twopersons including mother and her son were injured in the area after policefired pellets and tear smoke shells.
