2G Internet service restored in Kashmir capital Srinagar

Authorities on Thursday restored 2G Internet facility in Kashmir capital after suspending it yesterday following the Fateh Kadal gunfight that left two militants, a civilian and a cop dead.

An official had said that the service was shut “as a precautionary measure” to prevent spreading of rumours.

However, high speed Internet continues to remain suspended in the district.

Meanwhile, strict restrictions have been imposed in downtown Srinagar to thwart any protests against the killings.
