Police here on Wednesday arrested three gamblers and seized stake money of Rs 2,202 from the gambling site.
A statement said a police party from police station ShaheedGunj raided a gambling site following an input about the gambling activities atKarfali Mohalla Habakadal here.
The statement said three persons were arrested by police andwere identified as Saleem Jan Bhat of Shalla Kadal, Aqib Zahoor Bhat of SonaMasjid Fateh Kadal and Ferooz Ahmad Laway of Zainakadal.
The statement said officers have seized playing cards andstake money of Rs 2,202 from the gambling site.
A case (FIR No.22/2020) has been registered in policestation Shaheed Gunj and further investigation into the matter has beeninitiated, said the statement.
It said persons found indulging in criminal activities shallbe dealt as per law. “Community members are requested to share informationregarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with local police units,” said thestatement.
