324 people complete quarantine period, discharged

At least 324 people who completed their quarantine period at different facilities here were discharged on Thursday.

Officials from civil administration and police who werepresent to see off these people thanked them for their cooperation andfollowing guidelines in the fight against COVID19.

   

“You are our heroes, please maintain social distancing, weare still on roads to keep you safe,” were the placards displayed by thepolicemen to see off the people.

 “Thanks forsupporting us,” said one of the persons to policemen before boarding a bus.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar Syed Hanief Balkhisaid those discharged comprised mostly students who are pursuing MBBS inBangladesh.

He said all these individuals were taken to the quarantinefacilities under protocol after their proper screening at Srinagar Airport.

He said shifting people with travel history to quarantinefacilities was part of elaborate preventive measures put in place to containspread of the COVID19.

He said those discharged have set an example for others whoconcealed hide travel history.

He said around 500 people will be discharged on Friday.

So far 638 people have completed quarantine period and havebeen discharged after being declared fit by doctors.
