489 people complete isolation period

At least 489 people who completed the quarantine period at different facilities here were discharged on Friday.

People discharged belong to different district of Kashmirand completed the necessary quarantine period of 14 days on Thursday. They leftthe quarantine facilities with smiling faces.

   

At one of the quarantine centres, emotional scenes werewitnessed after parents of some of the students arrived to take their kin home.

“I live very close to this quarantine centre. I came to takemy daughter home,” said a parent.

A youth who was undergoing quarantine said all arrangementsput in place for them were satisfactory.

Administration had arranged vehicles for these people to ferrythem to their respective homes.

An official said all people discharged today and theirfamilies were very cooperative. “They understood the protocol and knew it wasfor the welfare of their wards, and the society,” the official said.

He said shifting of oversea-returnees into quarantinefacilities was part of elaborate preventive measures put in place to containspread of COVID19.

Around 1,900 people were quarantined after their return fromabroad.
