District administration of summer capital Srinagar has started an awareness campaign about Measles-Rubella vaccination to educate people about benefits of vaccination and impacts of the disease, an official handout said on Thursday.
The campaign was started on direction of deputy commissioner Srinagar Syed Abid Rashid Shah, it said. In this connection department of health and family welfare organized series of awareness programs in education zone Gulab Bagh, Zaldagar and SR Gunj. Such programs have already been completed in education zone Batamaloo.
The programs were held in various government and private schools where health educators and experts of district task force, WHO, UNICEF and health department shared knowledge with students about benefits and impacts of Measles-Rubella.
The program was also organized in MP higher secondary Zaldagar and medical institutions in SR Gunj.
