‘Back to Village’ program ends with hope for redressal of grievances in rural Srinagar

The weeklong rural outreach, ‘Back to Village’ program Thursday ended with high hopes for redressal of developmental and other grievances and concerns recorded across 21 Panchayathalqas of Srinagar.

The Panchayathalqas where the program marked its culminationwere Lasjan-B, Theed-B and FaqirGujree-A where outreach activities startedyesterday amid large public participation.

   

The program in the rural areas of the district included ahost of activities ranging from Gram Sabhas and public meetings to inspectionsof public facilities and installations of essential services aimed at arrivingat a correct understanding of developmental shortfalls among other requirementsthereof. It also included awareness sessions about Government schemes meant forpeople living and working in rural areas and enrolments of beneficiaries.

In all 21 halqas designated administrators visiting wereaccompanied by officers from concerned line departments in order to ensureproper understanding and recording of grievances.

Concerns and grievances ranging from those access to healthand educational facilities to drainage and irrigation to roads and transportationto essential services like distribution of power and water to those offinancial and tourist facilities as recorded in these halqas have been compiledand submitted to the office of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar for redressal.

Other Panchayathalqas where ambitious rural outreach programwas held include Lasjan-A, Khonmoh-A, Balham-A, Panzinara-A, Dara-A,FaqirGujri-B, Nowgam-B, Panzinara-B, Khonmoh-B, Balhama-B, Dara-B, Syedpora,Nowgam-A, Soiteng, Khonmoh-C, Theed-A and Khimber of Harwan block.

The DC Srinagar Shahid Iqbal Choudhary has assured ofredressal of all genuine grievances raised and recorded in all 21Panchayathalqas during weeklong outreach program.
