Security forces on Thursday evening launched a cordon and search operation in Bagh-e –Mehtab, located on the city outskirts, following reports of “some suspicious movement” in the area.
A source said that a joint team of Army’s rashtriya Riflesand J&K Police cordoned Mouchow area and sealed all roads leading to it.”Door to door search operation was conducted and all the entry and exit pointsof the locality were sealed,” a source said.
The area continues to remain under siege when this report wasfiled.
