Chairperson SCPWCR visits Women’s Police Station

Chairperson J&K State Commission for Protection of Women and Child Rights (SCPWCR) Vasundhara Pathak Masoodi Monday visited Women’s Police Station, Rambagh here.

Masoodi took a briefing about functioning of the policeStation and advised the concerned to attend problems of the aggrieved womensympathetically so that the purpose for which these police stations have beenestablished is realized.

   

The Chairperson said that the Commission was reaching out inall the Women Police Stations of the State to get up-to-date status ofcomplaints filed there so that strategy was evolved for their early redressal.

She said that the Commission was also on the job tosensitize people about women and child rights so that they could contact theCommission whenever necessary. The Chairperson was told that the Police StationRambagh has received 176 complaints so far during the current year, of which101 have been solved amicably. Moreover, 19 complaints have been converted intoFIR and 56 complaints are at counselling State.
