Mild clashes broke out in parts of Downtown area after the culmination of Friday prayers, officials and witnesses said.
They said scores of youth fought pitched battle with security forces at Saraf Kadal and Rajouri Kadal areas of Downtown. “Forces responded with tear smoke shells to disperse the protesting youth.
The traffic movement also got affected for some time while as situation was brought to normal after sometime,” the witness said.
