College students demand reduction in syllabus

Under graduate students from various colleges in Srinagar have demanded reduction in syllabus.

A delegation of students said that the merging of 5th and6th semesters has increased their workload. 

   

‘We joined the colleges in 2016 and were supposed tograduate in three years, but due to callous approach of administration, theirdegree is pending,” they alleged.

“We are in 6th semester and the result of our 3rd and 4thsemester is still pending. We are already in fourth year of our degree that wassupposed to finish in three years,” said a student.

 “We have been givenonly five months to finish syllabus which takes a year. That is why we wantreduction of syllabus.”She said adding that they fear if the universityadministration continues to linger their degree, they fear they will lose otheryear.

The aggrieved students appealed administration to declareresult of 3rd semester and backlog result of first 1st semester. They alsorequested that the exam of 2nd semester backlog papers should be conducted sothat they don’t have to suffer.
