Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Khurshid Ahmad Sanai today chaired meeting to review the progress of various projects being executed under AMRUT and JTPRF.
In a statement, SMC spokesperson said during the meeting,various components of AMRUT including storm water drainage at different places in Srinagar, sewerage, UrbanTransportation , Development of Multi level parking and green spaces werereviewed.
It was informed in the meeting that 30 projects have beenidentified under AMRUT out of which 29projects have been tendered.
Commissioner was also apprised that five projects have gotcompleted including storm water drainage Mallbagh, storm water drainageGangbugh, Extension of Tulip Garden, Development of Park/ Green space(BeminaPark) Idle Park at Pantha Chowk. He also reviewed status of reforms under AMRUTand status of NOC’s to be sought from other departments.
It was also identified that 19 projects are under execution.
The Commissioner started his city tour from Jahangir Chowkand visited different areas of the city including Hari Singh High Street, KaranNagar, Lal Chowk and Batamaloo. He issued directions for conducting extensiveanti encroachment drives for smooth vehicular and pedestrain movement inencroached areas including Lal Chowk, Maharaja Bazaar, Hari Singh High Street andBatamaloo.
The Commissioner also visited LD and SMHS Hospital to reviewsanitation and directed the sanitation wing of SMC to conduct specialsanitation drives in all the hospitals of the city phase wise.
